Margaret was born and reared in Stillwater, Oklahoma, on a farm/ranch. From an early age, Margaret was fascinated by the texture, math, and manipulation of fiber. Margaret honestly does not know how long she has been knitting and crocheting, as it has been a part of her life for as long as she remembers. Her mother states that she started around the age of 5 or 6. She was taught to knit and crochet by her German grandmother. When she was around the age of 11, she took courses at a local yarn store. Margaret's friends and fellow knitters are to blame for the retail venture that she embarked on in 2004 when she built the Gourmet Yarn Company in Oklahoma City. She strives to service all levels of customers, from luxury yarn to yarn for everyday use, in all price ranges. Margaret is the resident certified TKGA Master Hand Knitter.

Susie retired from the University of Oklahoma and she began weaving in 2009 while
caring for her father in the latter stages of Alzheimer’s. She would weave while sitting beside her
father. Although words had long been
lost between the two, her father would feel of the fibers and smile and pat her
arm. Fiber Arts were a life saver for
her during her father’s illness and have become her passion as she has expanded
her work to include felting and jewelry.
Susie’s award winning work is inspired by the beautiful colors of her
native state and are available in the Oklahoma Capitol gift shop.

Cambra was born and raised in the great state of Oklahoma (though she lived in Kansas, Washington, and California before moving back here in 2008). While her grandmother taught her all kinds of crafts when she was growing up, Cambra didn't learn to knit until she was in her late twenties, expecting her first child. Cambra anticipated making a baby blanket and never knitting again. Boy, was she wrong!!!! In the ten years post-baby blanket, she has made and designed countless items with a variety of yarns and techniques. Her love of knitting eventually drew her to GYC, where she learned more than she could have possibly imagined. Cambra is so thankful for the opportunity to work with such a gifted Master Knitter and to spend time with so many wonderful customers. GYC continues to be her favorite "home away from home".
