The Gourmet Yarn Store is proud to announce the 2016 Fall Retreat from September 22 – 25, 2016, at Roman Nose Park. Given the success of the 2015 Fall Retreat, and the requests of patrons, the retreat has been extended for an extra night! That’s right – Thursday through Sunday!
The Roman Nose State Lodge is set amidst a beautiful canyon and the conference room affords beautiful views of your surroundings. Margaret Schroeder, Master Knitter, will be your host and instructor during this creative weekend. Of course, the best part of the weekend is socializing with other fiber enthusiasts.
If you're bringing a non-crafter with you, the park offers many recreational activities that include an 18-hole golf course, swimming pools, hiking trails, two lakes, trout-fishing in season, canoeing, paddle boats, mountain biking, horse stables, and hayrides by reservation. Package includes 3 night stay (all taxes included), class instructions, pattern, and GYC tote bag. Coffee will be available in the morning and tea in the afternoon. Meals are not included – the lodge does have a restaurant.
Retreat package rates are as follows:
Room with King bed (only 2 available): $550 - (Full. Waiting list being taken.)
Private with one queen and one twin bed: $490
Semi-private rooms with one queen and one twin bed: $295.
A $50, non-refundable deposit is required at the time of reservation. Payment of 50% of the balance is due by March 1, 2016 with full payment by May 1, 2016. No refunds will be given after May 1, 2016, unless we are able to resell your package to a person on the waiting list.
Directions: Roman Nose State Park is located just 80 miles northwest of Oklahoma City off of 1-40. Take SH 8 north to Watonga. Follow SH8 to SH8-A and then head west 2 miles to the park entrance.
